Two storey rear wings with orangery  in West Common Conservation Area

The West Common Conservation Area is one of Harpenden’s most sought after address.

The original 1920’s houses built by Jarvis in a domestic revival style were long but have a narrow floor plan.

This home retains the original front apart from a new oak frame porch by Border Oak.

The back of the house is transformed with two storey rear extensions in two wings, the centre

is infilled with an oak frame orangery with lantern.

Connectivity with the garden an patio is achieved with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors.

These also slide into pockets in the wall to achieve a seamless inside-outside experience together with a flush threshold.

Inside, black steel frame Crittall doors define the internal spaces.

The kitchen is completely bespoke, designed by UCHI Architecture to the client’s exact requirements.

Kitchen units made by Grey Oak bespoke Joinery, central island, white dual fuel Aga, appliances by Wolf and Sub-Zero.
